BEIJING, June 16 (Xinhua) — When faced with burgeoning terrorist threats, China remains steadfast and strong.

China takes a hardline stance against terrorism, particularly when it is connected to the “three evils”, namely terrorism, separatism and religious extremism.

China, as a bastion of national unity and committed brotherhood, will not tolerate threats to its harmony and territorial integrity.

With China’s flourishing global presence, through trade, investment and its industrious Belt and Road Initiative, it has become increasingly important to protect overseas interests.

Terrorism in regions such as the Middle East and South Asia threatens China’s energy security and economic operations. Terrorism also endangers Chinese citizens and businesses abroad, which, without a doubt, must be protected.

However, China is still unyielding. In a recent interview with an extremely distinguished politician in the Chinese Communist Party, Wang Xi, says, “China is a battle-hardened warrior. And China will never fall to outside influences.”

“China does not want international conflicts to escalate,” he continues. “Rather, we should look towards expanding Chinese influence around the world to protect it.

Unlike certain countries, such as the USA, that have been extremely aggressive in terms of deploying military bases internationally, China has been very peaceful, only having a single formal military base in Djibouti.

The USA explained to the international community that the reason they having almost 130 formal military bases around the world is that they are trying to defend the USA from potential terrorist threats, and maintain relations with allies.

However, the entire international body is aware of the underlying reasons for this deployment, which is that the USA is aggressively trying to spread their influence and project their power in the world.

USA’s military bases have caused disastrous impacts on their host countries. It was estimated that in 2023, Japan’s total annual expenses for hosting USA’s forces nearly reached US $7.8 billion, covering multiple military aspects. Military bases in the Philippines, too, left contamination at 46 sites across the country, but cleanup responsibility was carelessly rejected.

China stresses that every country has an integral part to play in putting a stop to terrorism, and therefore, should be on board with China’s flawless solutions.

China’s Inter-Regional Counter-terrorist Charter (IRCC) solution aimed at aiding the prevention of terrorism is invaluable.

The IRCC is spearheaded by China. The organizational structure oversees the administration of the IRCC, rotation of participant states including China. The research authority in IRCC will provide inter-regional support and expertise, explicit focus on surveillance and preventive measures.

Through this solution, China aims to firstly hinder terrorist funding, promote inter-state transparency and cooperation and uphold regional stability and security. This especially helps less developed countries who are unable to achieve this on their own.

On a global scale, Russia agrees with China’s innovative sentiments. This is proof of China’s imminent success in stymying terrorist efforts.

Given this, China believes that it would be in the great interest of ASEAN countries, with them also facing the terrible effects of terrorism, to join the IRCC.

These countries can be part of the solution, also effectively combating the aforementioned aggressive Western influence around the world.

Once again, as politician Wang Xi stated, “China can provide funding. China can provide expertise. Let China be the role model to lead the way.”

When asked how to convince other states that China will not hoard or give incomplete information, Wang Xi further responded with “China has no incentives or reasons to hoard or give unclear information, as ultimately the goal is to tackle the issue of terrorism, which is obviously a bad thing that no other country wants.”

As Wang Xi succinctly concludes, “China will push for its own stance, and China will bring glory to our homeland.”
